Aliwal Shoal is a fossilized sand dune reef and a hotspot for shark encounters. During winter, it becomes a mating ground for hundreds of ragged-tooth sharks ('raggies'), which can be observed up close in places like 'Raggie Cave'. Two wrecks add to the variety.
Features
A rocky reef system known for its shark populations. The main attraction is the seasonal aggregation of ragged-tooth sharks. Baited dives also attract blacktip and tiger sharks. The reef also features two wrecks, the 'MV Produce' and 'Nebo'.
