The Carnatic is a British steam and sail vessel that sank in 1869 while carrying a cargo of wine and gold. It's one of the oldest wrecks in the Red Sea, and its beautiful, coral-covered skeleton is a favorite among photographers.
Features
A 90m long steamship that lies on its port side. The wooden superstructure has rotted away, leaving the metal framework, which is now completely encrusted in coral. It's a very beautiful and historic wreck.
