The Pit is a dramatic, deep cenote that forms part of the Dos Ojos system. The dive involves descending through a stunning shaft of light into the vast cavern below. At around 30 meters, divers pass through a mystical-looking hydrogen sulfide cloud.
Features
A deep sinkhole in the jungle. The main features are the intense sunbeams that penetrate the cavern, a blurry halocline layer where fresh and salt water meet, and a surreal, wispy hydrogen sulfide cloud hovering above a debris mound.
