(Note: The arch collapsed in 2021, but the site, now called Darwin's Pillars, remains a premier dive spot). This remote site is arguably the best place in the world for encounters with giant, pregnant whale sharks and massive schools of hammerheads.
Features
A submerged volcanic platform, formerly marked by a famous arch. This site is a magnet for large pelagics. Divers hold on to rocks in strong currents to watch schools of hammerheads, whale sharks, silky sharks, and Galapagos sharks swim by.
