Gunung Api is a volcanic island in the middle of the Banda Sea, famous for its incredible population of sea snakes. It's not uncommon to see dozens of these curious (but harmless) banded sea kraits on a single dive, swimming over a healthy hard coral reef.
Features
A volcanic island where a past eruption destroyed the reef, which has since regrown at an astonishing rate. The site is most famous for the very high number of banded sea kraits (sea snakes) that are seen on every dive.
