The old wooden jetty in Berau, the gateway to the Derawan islands, is a fantastic muck diving site. At night, the silty bottom under the jetty comes alive with a bizarre assortment of critters, making it a must-do for macro enthusiasts in the area.

Features

A classic muck dive under a working pier. The debris and shadows create a perfect habitat for rare macro critters. It is especially famous for its night dives, where divers can find stargazers, flamboyant cuttlefish, and bobbit worms.
