La Jolla Cove is a protected ecological reserve and a fantastic urban dive. Divers can swim through kelp forests, explore rocky reefs, and have incredible close encounters with playful sea lions. In summer, hundreds of leopard sharks aggregate here.

A very popular and accessible shore dive. The main attractions are the playful California sea lions and the seasonal aggregation of harmless leopard sharks in the shallow sandy areas. The site also has a beautiful kelp forest.
