The Pedernales was an oil tanker that was torpedoed by a German U-boat in WWII. The central section of the ship was removed, but the bow and stern sections were left and are now a popular shallow dive site, scattered over a wide area.

A WWII oil tanker that was torpedoed. The wreck is broken up into several pieces, which are spread out over a large sandy area. It's a very easy, shallow dive, and the wreckage is home to a lot of fish and eels.
