Garuae Pass, in the north of Fakarava, is the widest pass in French Polynesia. An incoming tide creates a high-speed drift dive that carries divers past a massive 'wall of sharks', with hundreds of grey reef sharks schooling in the current.
Features
A very wide and deep channel that offers an adrenaline-pumping drift dive. The main attraction is the 'wall of sharks', a huge aggregation of grey reef sharks that patrol the incoming current. Eagle rays and Napoleon wrasse are also common.
