During World War II, the Germans blasted this channel to connect the inner lagoon to the open ocean. Today, it's a world-famous dive site, primarily for its manta ray cleaning station where these giants gracefully hover to be cleaned by smaller fish.

A man-made channel connecting the lagoon to the outer reef. An incoming tide brings nutrient-rich water and attracts manta rays to a specific cleaning station. The site also features sleeping whitetip sharks and abundant reef fish.
