Protea Banks is a deep reef system off the coast of KwaZulu-Natal, renowned for its high-adrenaline shark diving. Strong currents attract a variety of shark species depending on the season, including ragged-tooth, bull, and hammerhead sharks.

Features

A fossilized sand dune reef exposed to the open ocean. This is a baited drift dive designed to attract multiple shark species. In winter, hundreds of ragged-tooth sharks congregate here to mate. A challenging deep dive with strong currents.
