Juvis Coral Reef

Juvis is the only dive site in Havelock where you'll find potato coral. Pavona clavus, a rounded, dome-shaped hard coral genuinely rare in the Andamans, colonises the mid-slope of this reef in an unbroken formation spanning approximately 500 metres — no other dive site in Havelock, or reportedly anywhere else in the archipelago, has a concentration like it. The site sits off the uninhabited shoreline of John Lawrence Island, roughly 5km west of Govind Nagar beach (Training point), a 10-minute speedboat ride away. The island's undeveloped coastline protects the reef from runoff and disturbance, and the result is one of Havelock's most intact and biodiverse shallow reefs — complete with some of the most reliable whitetip reef shark sightings on the island.
