Dive Sites

Mbigo is a dive area in a remote part of the Solomon Islands, accessible by liveaboard. The reefs here are pristine and untouched, featuring spectacular walls, beautiful coral gardens, and a very high density of fish life.

Mbigo Passage is a channel dive that offers a thrilling drift. The strong currents that flow through the passage attract a healthy population of grey reef sharks and eagle rays, making for an exciting, action-packed dive.

The Medes Islands are a small, rocky archipelago off the coast of Catalonia, Spain. As a strictly protected marine reserve for decades, the fish life here is abundant and unafraid of divers. It's famous for its large, curious groupers.

Medjumbe is a tiny private island in the Quirimbas, surrounded by pristine coral reefs. The diving is spectacular, with beautiful walls and coral gardens, a huge number of turtles, and humpback whales passing by in the winter.

Melissa's Garden is a spectacular and vast coral garden, considered one of the most beautiful and healthy in all of Raja Ampat. The shallow bommies are covered in a breathtaking diversity of pristine hard and soft corals, hiding macro critters and sleeping wobbegongs.

Mellow Yellow is a stunning pinnacle in the Bligh Water, completely covered in a dense forest of bright yellow soft corals. The pinnacle is also swarmed by thousands of colorful anthias, creating an incredible visual spectacle.

Menjangan Island is part of the West Bali National Park and offers some of the best wall diving in Bali. The visibility is often exceptional, and the walls are covered in huge, healthy gorgonian sea fans. The diving is calm and suitable for all levels.

Meno Wall, off the coast of Gili Meno, is a fantastic wall dive, particularly at night. The wall starts at about 5 meters and drops to 22 meters, with lots of small overhangs and crevices that are home to crabs, lobsters, and sleeping turtles.

Merlo Pinnacle is a large, submerged seamount in northern Sudan. The currents that flow over the pinnacle attract a huge amount of life, including massive schools of barracuda and jacks, with frequent sightings of grey reef and hammerhead sharks.

Mermaid Reef is the northernmost atoll of the Rowley Shoals. It features spectacular wall dives on the outer reef, with huge gorgonian fans and pristine hard corals. The lagoon is also home to a garden of giant clams.

Mérouville ('Grouper City') is another name for the famous 'La Gabinière' pinnacle at Port-Cros. It is renowned for its very large and very friendly population of dusky groupers, who are unafraid of divers and will often approach closely.

Mesharifa is a remote reef in northern Sudan that is a known cleaning station for manta rays. It's a fantastic and uncrowded spot to have encounters with these gentle giants during the right season.

Meskat is a unique dive site in Sudan featuring the wreck of a Blue Belt cargo plane that was intentionally sunk. The plane is an interesting and unusual subject for photographers and a fun artificial reef to explore.

Mexico Rocks is a shallow patch reef system located inside the main barrier reef. It's a fantastic spot for snorkelers and beginner divers, acting as a nursery for a huge variety of juvenile reef fish.

Mi'il Channel is one of the primary channels in Yap for manta ray encounters. On an incoming tide, divers can drift along the channel and stop at several cleaning stations, including Stammtisch, to watch the mantas.

Mid-Reef is located in the middle of Sipadan's eastern side and is a fantastic spot to appreciate the island's incredible turtle population and overall reef health. Large schools of bumphead parrotfish are often seen munching on the coral in the shallows.

Mike's Point is a small island with dramatic underwater topography, featuring swim-throughs, overhangs, and steep walls. It was supposedly named by Mike Ball after he accidentally bombed it, thinking it was a Japanese ship during WWII. It's now famous for its huge schools of sweetlips.

The Mikhail Lermontov was a Soviet cruise liner that sank in 1986. It is one of the largest and most accessible cruise ship wrecks in the world, lying on its side in the Marlborough Sounds. It offers incredible penetration opportunities for advanced, cold-water certified divers.

At the end of WWII, the US military dumped tons of equipment into the sea off Espiritu Santo, creating Million Dollar Point. Divers can explore a surreal underwater landscape of bulldozers, jeeps, trucks, and crates of Coke bottles, all now encrusted with coral.
