Dive Sites

Padang Bai is a port town that serves as a gateway to several excellent and diverse dive sites. 'Blue Lagoon' is a beautiful, easy coral garden perfect for beginners, while other sites offer walls, sharks, and fantastic macro opportunities.

The town pier at Padre Burgos is a fantastic muck and night diving site. The pier pilings and surrounding rubble are a haven for macro life, and it's a very reliable spot to see mandarin fish performing their mating dance at dusk.

Painted Walls is a shallow dive site with a series of canyons that are brightly decorated with colorful encrusting sponges and corals, giving the impression of painted walls. It's a very beautiful and easy dive for all levels.

The Pakleni Islands, just off Hvar, offer some of the best diving in Croatia. The archipelago features beautiful caves, a number of small wrecks, and very healthy reefs with a high diversity of Mediterranean marine life.

Known locally as 'The Ship', this is a large ferry that was sunk as an artificial reef. It sits upright and is largely intact, making it an exciting wreck to explore. It's now home to large groupers and schools of fish.

Palolo Deep is a marine reserve in Samoa that is easily accessible from the shore. It features a deep blue hole surrounded by a shallow reef flat, with beautiful hard coral gardens and a high diversity of reef fish.

Palong Wall, just outside Maya Bay, is a fantastic wall dive and one of the most reliable places in the area to see blacktip reef sharks. The wall is covered in healthy corals, and it's not uncommon to see a dozen or more sharks on a single dive.

Pamilacan Island is a small island known for its dolphin and whale watching tours. The diving is also excellent, with healthy, sloping reefs and gentle drift dives. The reefs are covered in beautiful hard and soft corals and a lot of fish life.

The Pamir is a 165-foot freighter that was sunk as an artificial reef. It's an easy and beautiful wreck dive, sitting upright and attracting a huge amount of fish life, including turtles and large schools of snappers.

Panagsama Beach is the main hub for diving in Moalboal. The reef drops off into a spectacular wall just a few meters from the shore, making for incredible and easy shore diving. It's here that the famous sardine run is located, and turtles are everywhere.

Pandanon is a beautiful island with a stunning sandbar, often visited on island-hopping tours from Mactan. The diving features a healthy, sloping coral reef with a good variety of fish life, perfect for a relaxed and easy dive.

Panorama Reef is a huge submerged atoll near Safaga, offering spectacular wall diving. The sheer walls drop into the deep and are covered in soft corals and anemones. The north and south plateaus are great spots to look for sharks and other pelagics.

The Papoose was an oil tanker torpedoed by a German U-boat in 1942. The wreck lies upside down, and the visible torpedo damage is a highlight. It is another fantastic site for encounters with sand tiger sharks.

Paso del Cedral is another fantastic Cozumel drift dive, known for its large marine life. The reef has numerous overhangs and swim-throughs that are home to huge groupers, large moray eels, and many turtles.
